Temomi cha

Exclusive Hand-rolled Sencha

~Taste high-grade hand rolled tea leaves at least once in your lifetime ~

The highest grade tea leaves from Wazuka, Kyoto, are used to make Obubu’s Exclusive Hand-Rolled Sencha.

Our president and farmer, Akihiro Kita, employed a traditional hand-rolling method (temomi / 手揉み) and all of his passion for tea to make Obubu's Exclusive Hand-Rolled Sencha. The process took Akky 5 hours to complete (which is unfortunately why we hardly ever offer it...)!

The result is different from sencha produced by machine and this can be recognized immediately. Hand-rolled tea leaves are occasionally used at tea cupping competitions. (Read more about Japanese sencha tea processing here)

Hand-rolled tea leaves have become an exclusive commodity as the process of making them require a lot of energy and time. Obubu is offering Akky's Exclusive Hand-Rolled Sencha for a limited time only to the first 10 customers.
